Easy Peasy Jewelry Organizer

Monday, August 22, 2011

Recently I did a blog feature on one of my favorite blogs 33 Shades of Green and in the post I talked about her very cool, very simple jewelry organizer. Today I took a shot at the organizer myself being that my jewelry is always spread out everywhere and there is A LOT of it! This is a quick 10-15 minute project which looks really nice displayed in your bedroom and makes your favorite jewelry pieces quickly accessible.

Cast of Characters:
Cork Tiles
T-Pins
Frames
Xacto Knife

I dont have picture for the process because it is really simple. All you have to do is cut the cork tile with Xacto knife to the size of the glass in the frame. I used the backboard of the frame to trace out the cork tile. Then stick the tile inside of the frame the same way you would do a picture and replace the frame back. That's it!  You can use the t-pins to hang necklaces, bracelets, and rings. I just stuck the earrings themselves right into the cork. I will most likely be revamping my jewelry organizers soon because Im going to be doing a little remodeling. Right now the brown frames and cork go nicely with the terracotta walls but the walls will soon be a lighter color. With the lighter color wall I think I will spray paint the frames white and cover the cork with a matching fabric.

If you have a ridiculous amount of jewelry and want to keep all your favorite pieces easily accessible, give the quick and simple tutorial a try!!
