Fall Letter Tiles

Winter is right around the corner. Nooooo!!! I'm holding onto the last month of Fall with all my strength.  I want to share one my final Fall crafties before it's time to break out the Christmas goodies!  

I had seen a few posts about using the Elmer glue crackle technique and I wanted to give it a try.  I bought some wooden tiles from A.C. Moore and went to work making these Fall letters. 

I started out by painting the tiles orange.

Once dry, I painted the tiles with a coat of Elmer's glue and then immediately painted the tiles white while the glue was still wet. Now break out the hair dryer. Blow dry the tiles until completely dry and crackled.

I don't have pics for the next part, but I just painted letters onto each tile with stencils and lightly added swipes of black paint to give it an antique look.

Such and easy and fun little craft that is the perfect addition to your seasonal decor!!

Autumn Yarn Pumpkins

Recently I was checking out some fall projects online and I came across one that I thought was extra cute. That's My Letter's twine pumpkins. I loved the look of them and their super fall-like feel so wanted to give them a try, putting my own little twist on them, of course.  Along with twine, I found some autumn colored yarn and  used that to make my pumpkins.

 as well as jute twine and a glue gun.

I started out by cutting the tops off of the pumpkins to make it easier to wrap the yarn around.

Then it was a simple as wrapping the yarn around and glueing as I went wherever I thought it needed extra hold.

As I went along, I got a better rhythm to the wrapping so that it was a lot more neat than seen above.  After wrapping until covered, I tied off the yarn, glued the pumpkin stem back onto the top and that was it!

These were so super simple and add a lovely fall feeling to our home to welcome in the season.

It smells like Autumn.

I know that we have another few days of "summer" to go but the last few days, the weather could have had me fooled. It has definitely been crispy cold ...apple picking, hayride, trick or treating weather.  My relationship with fall goes back and forth between love and hate.  There is nothing I despise more than being cold.  That chill in the air makes me sad because I know dreary, wet, sloppy, and gloomy winter is right around the corner. I live in New England and our winters are no walk in the park.  BUT, I think it's a very beautiful time of year as far as the foliage is concerned and I love Halloween and knowing that the other holidays are right around the corner ...and everything goes back into motion.  All the shows start their new seasons (except True Blood who just ended their season, BOO!) and my little girl gets to go back to dance and start a new school year.

ZeeBee officially started pre-school this year. Same school. New classroom ...and this year, she has homework!

I cant believe my baby is doing homework!  It is the cutest thing and she is so excited about doing it and we all know that wont last for long.

...and how happy was she when I told her we were headed back to dance class? This happy!

Welcome Back!!

As sad as I am about the end of summer (which is REALLY sad), I'm welcoming fall this year and all the fun new adventures it brings.

Window Shopping Wednesday

I, of all people, hate admit this but Fall is around the corner and its almost time to break out those beautiful autumn tones! All the stores have already started displaying their fall collections and I've come across lots of great finds.  I am the ultimate online "window" shopper. I stay filling up shopping carts and only buying fractions of the items. Today was a "window" shopping day with Fall in mind and few cute pieces made it to the possibly cart. Now if they'll only make it pass there ...hmm.

This Water Colour Scarf from Zara is beautiful. I love the almost caribbean colors and even though its a little summery, the orange can bring it into the fall.

These are tricolor vamp shoes from Zara have to be my favorite find. I love the aqua strap with the orang and purple color blocking. They remind me of  pair of shoes I owned in the early nineties. A great retro to modern look!

Combat Boots from Forever 21, as much as I hate walking into that store, these are a YES PLEASE! Owned.
I'll I even wear these for the summer with a pair of paper bag shorts.

I love blazers! They make even the simplest tee look a little more sleek …specially with straight leg jeans. The tweed look screams Fall and Im loving it and I'm a weirdo so I love the old man look. Im a sucker for the patches on the elbows. Give me a pair of Oxfords any day! 

But my absolute fav of all are cardigans. Every color. Every design. Long and short. Ill take em.

Love this color but sold out. Boo!

There were so many more things. Don't get me started on the jewelry.
